Description

Alfalfa contains valuable minerals: calcium, phosphorus, manganese, iron, zinc, copper, magnesium, potassium, sodium. Alfalfa contains a number of proteolytic enzymes that break down proteins and promote their absorption. In addition, alfalfa is an indispensable source of chlorophyll, vitamins (C, E, D, K, B1, B2, B12, amino acids), contains pantothenic acid, biotin, folic acid, enzymes, alkaloids, asparagine, estrogens, saponins, sugars, pigments, starch.

Useful properties

It has the following medicinal properties:

  • diuretic;

  • general strengthening;
  • cleaning;
  • hemostatic;
  • Soothing;
  • antitumor;
  • wound healing.

Indications for use

It is recommended to use products made from alfalfa in the presence of the following diseases:

  • Colds;
  • skin diseases;
  • diabetes mellitus;
  • Hypertension;
  • Ischemia;
  • diseases of the gastrointestinal tract;
  • damage to the joints;
  • tachycardia;
  • chronic constipation;
  • diseases of the thyroid gland;
  • cystitis and urethritis.

For women, it is advisable to take decoctions and infusions during menopause to make up for the lack of hormones. Seeds can be consumed while breastfeeding, as lechukha-based products increase lactation.

Regular use of alfalfa-based products also brings the following benefits: it helps to normalize digestion, reduces blood cholesterol levels and the risk of blood clots.

How to use:

Infusion: pour 1 teaspoon of chopped herbs into 250 ml. boiling water, leave for 1 hour, strain. Take 50 ml each. 4 times a day.

Decoction: pour 2 tablespoons of chopped herbs into 1/2 liter of water, boil over low heat for 5 minutes, leave for 1 hour, strain. Take 1/3 cup 3 times a day.

Tincture: 1 tbsp. Pour 100 ml of chopped alfalfa grass. 40% alcohol. Insist 2 weeks in a warm place. Take 10 drops 3 times a day 30 minutes before meals.

Contraindications

  • increased blood clotting;
  • lupus erythematosus;
  • individual intolerance;
  • gastric ulcer during an exacerbation;
  • celiac disease, multiple sclerosis and other autoimmune diseases;
  • children under 3 years old.
