Healing properties

The chemical composition, rich in bioactive substances, explains the medicinal properties and the use of mullein for preventive and health-promoting purposes in folk medicine.

Mullein flowers are used internally for digestive disorders, as an emollient and expectorant for respiratory diseases and bronchial asthma, as well as for the treatment of liver and spleen, nervous exhaustion and pathological weight loss. Зовнішньо застосовують препарати з квіток, листя та коріння коров’яку. They are used to treat wounds and hemorrhoids, neuralgia and joint pain, skin inflammation and burns.

Method of application

1. Infusion. Take one dessert spoon of chopped plant parts, pour 250 ml of boiling water, leave for 10 minutes, strain. The finished infusion is taken after meals, three times a day, 150 ml per dose. Outwardly, the infusion is used as a hemostatic agent as part of the complex therapy of hemorrhoids.
2. Decoction. Take one tablespoon of the plant’s herb, pour 250 ml of boiling water, put on low heat for two minutes, remove from heat, cover, insist for half an hour, strain. The ready-made broth is taken three times a day, one tablespoon each, for the treatment of urolithiasis and digestive system pathologies.
3. Tincture. Take one tablespoon of the plant’s flowers, pour 10 tablespoons of vodka, and leave for three days. The finished tincture is used externally to relieve pain and inflammation in pathologies of the musculoskeletal system.

Contraindications:

• It is not recommended to use mullein infusions and decoctions during pregnancy and lactation;
• it is forbidden to use mullein in case of individual intolerance;
