Healing properties
Labrador Tea (Ledum palustre) is rich in organic acids, tannins, phytoncides, pectins, glycosides, essential oils, flavonoids, vitamins B and C, selenium, calcium, magnesium, iron, manganese, iodine, aluminum, and potassium.
It has numerous medicinal properties:
- pathogenic;
- anti-sapalny;
- antiseptic, antibacterial;
- astringent, diuretic, anthelmintic;
analgesic, antispasmodic; - expectorant;
- cleansing the blood;
- dilating blood vessels that increase blood circulation;
- wound healing;
- reduce blood pressure;
- calming effect on the nervous system.
It is taken alone or in combination with other remedies for:
pneumonia; bronchitis; laryngitis; bronchial asthma; diphtheria and whooping cough.
The use of rosemary infusion promotes the healing process and has a beneficial effect on the body. It helps to soften the cough and facilitates the separation and removal of sputum from the respiratory tract.
However, it is still necessary to remember that the plant is poisonous. Therefore, uncontrolled intake without a doctor’s approval is simply unacceptable. In case of irritability or dizziness, you should immediately stop using it.
Method of application
Infusion: 2 cup of chopped plant per 200 ml of boiling water, cover and put in a water bath for 15 minutes. Cool at room temperature for about an hour and strain. Bring the volume of liquid to the original 200 ml by adding cold boiled water. Store the finished infusion in the refrigerator for no more than two days.
Take heated 2-3 times a day, a quarter of a glass after meals as an expectorant and bactericidal agent for chronic bronchitis and other pulmonary diseases accompanied by cough.
Decoction: Pour 1 teaspoon of crushed Labrador Tea (Ledum palustre) into 1 cup of water. Bring to a boil. After the water boils, keep on heat for 1 minute. Remove from heat and let steep for 30 minutes, then strain. Take the decoction for cough, cold, and bronchitis, 1 tablespoon three times a day after meals.
Tincture: Pour vodka over Labrador Tea (Ledum palustre) at a ratio of 1:5 and let it steep in a warm, dark place for 2-3 days. The resulting tincture is used for rubbing in rheumatism, sciatica, arthritis.
