Scotch Thistle has many useful properties:
- bactericidal,
- cardiotonic,
- anti-inflammatory,
- hemostatic,
- diuretic and antitumor.
Infusions and decoctions of Scotch Thistle are used for colds and bronchitis, as tartar is a good expectorant and anti-inflammatory agent. Treatment with Scotch Thistle is effective for rheumatism, diseases of the excretory system, some diseases of the cardiovascular system, and gastrointestinal disorders. Scotch Thistle is used externally to treat wounds, ulcers, and burns that are difficult to heal.
Method of preparation:
Infusion: 2 tbsp. spoon, pour 200 ml (1 cup) of boiling water, put on low heat, bring to a boil and simmer for 15 minutes. Then slowly cool and strain. Take ⅓ cup three times a day after meals.
Contraindications
Medicinal products based on Scotch Thistle are contraindicated in hypertensive patients.
