Useful properties

Shiksha contains saponins, flavonoids, tannins, alkaloids, fatty and essential oils, resins, coumarins, benzoic and acetic acids, fructose, anthocyanins, carotene, ascorbic acid, andromedotoxin, sugars and trace elements.

Decoctions and infusions are prepared from this plant and are used for scurvy, epilepsy, insomnia, schizophrenia, colitis, cramps, difficulty urinating, chronic gastritis, liver and kidney diseases, headaches, hypertension, metabolic disorders, depression, diarrhea, paralysis, edema, and anthrax. They are also used externally to treat wounds, ulcers, rashes and acne. A decoction of the leaves perfectly strengthens the hair.

Methods of application

Decoction for neuropsychiatric diseases: epilepsy, sleep disorders, schizophrenia, depression:

  • 1 tbsp. of chopped dry herbs, pour 500 ml of water, boil for 7 minutes. And drink in sips (2-3 sips) 5-6 times a day for 2 days. Then pour boiling water over the rest of the herb and boil again. Drink this way for a week until the green broth is released from the herb. In epilepsy, it is recommended to drink the broth until the seizures stop, and then for prevention for 1 month a year.
  • 1 Pour a spoonful of chopped dry herbs with a glass of water and boil over low heat for 5 minutes, leave for half an hour, strain. Take 1 spoon 4-5 times a day.

Decoction for eye diseases: cataracts, glaucoma, dry eye syndrome, vascular disorders:

  • 1 tbsp. dry raw shiksha and steam in a small amount of boiling water – 2 tablespoons of water is enough. The raw material should be cooled and squeezed through cheesecloth. Instill 5-6 times a day in the lower eyelid. The course of treatment is 90 days.
