Healing properties
The plant prevents the appearance of stones in internal organs – in the urinary and gall bladder, kidneys – and removes the salts that form them (calcium oxalates, phosphates) from the body. In addition, it relieves inflammation and spasms, increases diuresis and bile secretion. Therefore, madder is indicated for various genitourinary disorders (cystitis, nephritis, nephropyelitis), during urinary and gallstone diseases; it alleviates conditions such as gout, edema, arthritis, and rheumatism.
It also has a beneficial effect on the digestive system, relieving colic and constipation, soothing enterocolitis, and eliminating inflammation of the spleen. Acts as a hepatoprotector. Stimulates the female reproductive system, restoring the menstrual cycle, increasing the level of iron in the blood. Fights diseases of the musculoskeletal system (rickets, osteomyelitis, bone tuberculosis).
When applied externally, it prevents the development of fungal diseases, promotes scarring of ulcers and reduction of pigment spots.
Method of application
Water decoction: 1 tbsp. pour chopped roots with 1 glass of water (200-250 ml) and boil in a water bath or over low heat for 10 minutes. Infuse for 20 minutes, filter. Drink 100 ml of the decoction in the morning and in the evening 15-20 minutes before meals. The admission course is 2 months.
Contraindications
acute and chronic glomerulonephritis, gastric ulcer, hyperacid gastritis. Urine under the influence of madder turns pinkish-red, which is considered a variant of the norm.
