Rumex confertus root

Healing properties

Rumex confertus preparations are used for gastrointestinal disorders. They stimulate taste buds, increase the production of bile and gastric juice, increase its acidity, and improve intestinal motor activity, especially in the colon. The plant stops diarrhea, including that caused by pathogenic microorganisms, and only in large doses acts as a laxative. It is an anthelmintic agent. In case of inflammation of the digestive tract mucosa (colitis, enteritis), it soothes irritation and acts as an anti-inflammatory agent. It helps with hemorrhoids.

The anti-inflammatory properties of Rumex confertus are also used for inflammations, suppuration, and bleeding gums, as well as for nasopharyngeal infections (tonsillitis, laryngitis). The plant stops internal bleeding – uterine, pulmonary, gastric. It is used externally for the treatment of wound surfaces. It has an antifungal (antimycotic) effect, treats affected nails, tinea capitis; kills skin parasites, such as scabies mites.

Method of application

Broth: 1 tsp. of chopped roots and 2 cups of water. Boil for 10-15 minutes, strain, leave for 2-4 hours and take a tablespoon every 2 hours before meals as a laxative. The effect occurs in 8-10 hours. The same broth, but diluted 10 times, is used as a fixative and astringent.

Alcohol tincture: pour vodka over the chopped roots in a ratio of 1:4. Insist for 2 weeks in a dark place, strain and take 20-30 drops 3 times a day in the treatment of gastrointestinal diseases, including internal bleeding, and even hypertension.
