Main properties

1. Softening and enveloping effect
   Due to the high content of mucous substances (mucin), mallow flowers soothe the mucous membranes of the throat, stomach and intestines, relieve irritation in dry cough, laryngitis, pharyngitis.

2. Anti-inflammatory
   Reduces inflammation in inflammatory processes in the oral cavity, respiratory tract, and genitourinary system.

3. Expectorant and soothing
   Eases breathing in colds, dry coughs, bronchitis. Goes well with thyme, linden, and Ivan tea.

4. Cosmetic effect
   Mallow flower infusion softens the skin, relieves redness, and is ideal as a tonic for sensitive, irritated, or dry skin.

5. Purifying
   Has a mild diuretic effect, promotes detoxification of the body.

How to use

• Infusion: 1 tsp. spoon of flowers per 200 ml of hot (not boiling!) water, let it brew for 15–20 minutes.
  Drink ½ cup 2–3 times a day or use it as a gargle.

• Externally: as a lotion or poultice for irritated skin, redness, and sunburn.

Contraindications

• Individual sensitivity.

• Do not combine with strong pharmaceuticals without consulting a specialist – mallow mucus can affect the absorption of medications.
