Healing properties
Plantain leaf has a good anti-inflammatory and antispasmodic effect. Its infusions are successfully used to treat diseases of the stomach and intestines. They are actively used for chronic gastritis and are applied externally for eye inflammation and to treat festering wounds.
Biologically active substances of plantain activate regeneration of damaged tissues, lower blood pressure, have analgesic, mild sedative and hypnotic effects.
To always have a reliable and inexpensive wound healing agent on hand, it is enough to have a dry plantain leaf. If necessary, it should be crushed into powder and sprinkled on a wound, sore, ulcer or bedsores.
Infusion of plantain leaf actively thins sputum and promotes its easy discharge. Therefore, it is widely used to treat various respiratory diseases accompanied by sputum production: cough, whooping cough, asthma, pleurisy, tuberculosis and bronchial catarrh.
Method of application
Infusion: 3 tablespoon. plants for 1 tbsp. of boiling water. Pour, leave for 6-8 hours. Take a third of a glass half an hour before meals.
Decoctions, infusions, and powdered leaves of the plant are used to treat cuts and pustular wounds.
Contraindications
Increased acidity and hypersecretion of gastric juice, gastric ulcer with increased acidity and hyperacid gastritis. In the presence of blood clots and increased blood clotting, plantain preparations should also not be taken.
