Alder Buckthorn bark

• Laxative. First of all, buckthorn bark acts as a laxative and serves to fight constipation. The bark increases the volume of intestinal contents and irritates the intestinal mucosa, accelerating the release of masses from the body. Buckthorn is used in case of prolonged constipation, burdened by poor development of the abdominal muscles and a sedentary lifestyle.
• It relieves symptoms of hemorrhoids and colitis. It is used for spastic colitis and liver diseases. The property of the bark to soften and liquefy feces helps with hemorrhoids and other diseases associated with painful, traumatic stools. In complex therapy it is used to treat gastric ulcer, duodenal ulcer and hemorrhoids.
• Stimulates digestion. As a part of herbal preparations, borage stimulates digestion.
• It is used after childbirth. Buckthorn bark is used in gynecology. It is used to perform a gentle bowel movement in the postpartum period. Promotes weight loss. Buckthorn is a part of weight loss preparations based on laxative properties. It helps with eczema and scabies. In folk medicine, washing with a decoction of the bark is used to treat scabies and eczema.

Method of application

Tincture: 100 g of bark, poured with 0.5 liters of 40% alcohol, insisted for two weeks, filtered and taken before meals, 2-3 times a day, 20-30 drops dissolved in half a glass of water. The tincture can also be used externally to treat pustules and acne on the skin.

Tea. Take one tablespoon of crushed bark, pour 0.5 liters of boiling water, insist in a thermos for 60 minutes, strain and drink 1-2 glasses per meal. The laxative effect occurs in 8-10 hours.
