Description

In traditional medicine, speedwell is used as:

  • An antitussive and expectorant for acute upper respiratory tract diseases, bronchitis, bronchial asthma, and pulmonary tuberculosis.
  • As a diuretic, it is used for diseases of the urinary tract and gout Infusions of the herb are also prescribed as a medicine that improves appetite and digestion, especially in gastrointestinal diseases accompanied by diarrhea.
  • As a hemostatic agent for internal and external bleeding.
    Sometimes it is used as a sedative for headaches, insomnia, and increased nervous excitability, especially during menopause.

Due to its antimicrobial, fungicidal, hemostatic and wound healing properties, veronica herb is often used as an external remedy for the treatment of wounds and skin diseases. In case of festering wounds and ulcers, acne and pustules, itchy rashes, as well as fungal skin lesions, the herb infusion is used for baths, rinses, lotions and compresses. Well-chopped leaves are applied to purulent wounds and ulcers.

How to use:

Infusion: 2 teaspoons. Pour 0.4 liters of boiling water over tablespoons of crushed raw materials, heat in a water bath for 15 minutes, insist until cool, strain. Take 1/2 cup 4 times a day 1 hour after meals. This infusion is used externally for skin diseases.
