Garden Angelica root

Healing properties

In traditional medical practice, garden angelica is widely used.

• A decoction of garden angelica rhizomes is used for flatulence, lumbago, insomnia, gastrointestinal diseases, biliary dyskinesia, gastritis, stomatitis, colds, bronchitis, laryngitis, gingivitis, pneumonia, and also as an expectorant.
• A tincture of garden angelica roots is used to enhance the motor and secretory functions of the intestines, to increase appetite and normalize digestion, as well as a disinfectant and antispasmodic agent for stomach disorders and spasmodic conditions of the gastrointestinal tract.
• Externally, the tincture is used for rheumatism, gout, myositis, myalgia. The rhizome extract is effective as an antispasmodic and sedative agent for spasms of organs with smooth muscles.
• Garden angelica preparations are used to treat diarrhea, dropsy, sciatica, measles, scarlet fever, bronchial asthma, skin and gynecological diseases (inflammatory processes of the genital organs, menstrual cycle disorders, painful menstruation or dysmenorrhea, fibrocystic mastopathy, pelvic congestion, uterine tone disorders, infertility, menopause), as well as to improve libido and enhance sexual sensitivity in women.
• Garden angelica root is included in diuretic and diaphoretic herbal blends.

Method of application

Infusion: 20 g of plant roots, per 1 liter. boiling water, leave for eight hours, strain and take half a glass, three times a day. This infusion helps with gynecological diseases, as well as many pathologies of the digestive system.
Tincture: 100 gr. roots per 1 liter. 60% alcohol or high-quality vodka, insist in a cold room for 21 days, occasionally shaking the bottle. Take 1 tablespoon tbsp. of garden angelica tincture three times a day for one and a half months.
