Healing properties

Marsh marshmallow is used to treat diseases of the bronchopulmonary system (bronchitis, pharyngitis, tracheitis, pneumonia, whooping cough and bronchial asthma), pharynx (tonsillitis, laryngitis, sore throat), stomach and intestinal diseases (ulcers, erosions) with high acidity, inflammation of the esophagus, colitis).

Marshmallow is widely used as an effective anti-inflammatory and enveloping agent in case of lung and upper respiratory tract disorders, improving sputum production and expectoration and reducing cough.

Methods of application

Infusion: Pour 1 tablespoon of chopped rhizomes with 1 glass (200 ml) of boiling water, leave in a thermos for 30 minutes, strain. Take 50 ml 4 times a day. The course is 2 weeks.

Decoction for external use: Pour 2 tablespoons of rhizomes with 0.5 liters of water, boil over low heat or in a water bath for 30 minutes, leave for 2 hours, strain, add boiled water to the original volume. Use for compresses, lotions, eye wash, mouth and throat rinse and for other purposes listed above. For general baths, you should prepare at least 2 liters of the broth, add it to a bath with warm water, and take a bath for 20 minutes.

Contraindications

First trimester of pregnancy, chronic constipation, thrombophlebitis.
